• The BEST guitar I've ever played.

Before I played this guitar, I was deadset on a gibson '97 V. It played really nice, and sounded awesome too. But I checked out a jackson shop, FINALLY! (Hey give me a break! I live in Idaho!) I picked up a KE3 and was completely blown away. It kicked the gibson's ass in every way. The neck felt very nice, it was easy to sit and play with, it sounded better, it was a million bux less, it had a trem, and it looked better (not important, but when you get the sound and playability down this is an issue). My only complaint is that it was a little neck heavy (I've heard this a lot with the kellys). Fixable issue. This is definetely my next guitar.

I'm now a hardcore believer in Jackson!

Personally, I think all the Gibsons I've played beat the crap out of the import Jacksons (aside from quality control issues). My RR1 however... niiiice. Seriously, metallicarocks, you should try your hardest to find a USA Jackson and play it. Godlike!

If I thought the same way you do now, I wouldn't traded in my Gibson Les Paul Studio, black with gold hardware, for an RR3 in trans blue.

dude... your have got to play a KE2( the USA version of the KE3)... I played one at a GC and I swear it was like a religious experience or something... the guitar fit me perfectly... it felt perfect, there wasn't a sound I couldn't get out of it, it looked great (trans. black) and when I plugged it into a Crate Blue Voodoo 120 Half Stack (using the usual Metal settings) I got THE Metallica sound of their first 3 albums which was a very pleasant surprise. Dude don't buy that KE3 without playing a KE2... KE2s are without a doubt the BEST guitar I have ever played (that guitar ended a 2 year search for the perfect guitar). I dunno about all THAT...BUT...I have a '94 MIJ Jackson Soloist Professional XL that - IMHO - plays BETTER than ANY of my Gibsons, and I SEEM to play it MORE than ALL my US Jacksons - INCLUDING the 2 Custom Shop SL-1s !!!!...I think the action is LESS than 1/32 of an INCH, and there is ABSOLUTELY NO - NADA - STRING BUZZ !!!!...MAYBE THIS one is EXTRAORDINARY for a MIJ Jackson, but I would buy a DOZEN MORE if they ALL played like THIS one !!!!! Yes, definitely try to find and play a USA Jackson... last year I went on a pilgrimage to Hamburg to find one, and succeeded:

I played a RR-1T in Pile O'Skulls finish.

And what can I say... I was totally floored! It looked so gorgeous and played so incredibly! *droooooooool*

They cost more but are well worth it, trust me!

The first time I played a USA Jackson, I bought it. It is still my best guitar. Any news on Jackson quality since Fender bought them?

I think it's way too early in the "Fender era" to be making any comparisons! From reading here, it doesn't appear that they've made any changes yet--they are still studying their new acquisition. They've already come out and said that the USA operations won't be messed with. Now, with the imports, I predict (with no basis in fact, though) that there will be significant changes. That would be an area where FMIC could save some significant costs by consolidating operations with its own import offerings. Will they end up doing that? Beats me, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Whoa, I checked out the USA's on ebay. Kinda pricy, but maybe I'll get lucky and I'll find a cheap one. I also looked up the 5150's and there's not much there right now. Hmmm... I'll wait and see.

Re: The BEST guitar I\'ve ever played.

Sorry not to 'toe the party line' here.

I'm a great fan of Jackson guitars, and also this forum, although the forced 'absence' of some of the older guys has diminished it's credibility & validity IMO. Believe me, I have 3 Jacksons & a Charvel - very, very nice guitars indeed. I also have a few Gibsons (all superb instruments) and some other stuff, some very good.

However, what I read is clearly BS from Explorer77...

>> I own a ke-3. simply beats out any fender or gibson

I've got to laugh. You've played them all then, Explorer77? At your tender 17 years? I don't think so.

Also, personally addressed to Word. How is it that you need to contribute, mostly, a load of useless and irrelevant garbage to every topic on this forum?

Not especially personal guys, I'd just like the forum to be like it was.

I'm gone, probably in flames, post deleted & user account invalid. But what the hell, it's been good until recently.

There will be some (few left now) older guys who know (and agree with) what I am saying. Let's hope they get a chance to read this post!

I'm quite new to this forum and like it a lot so far. I have gotten a lot of help from users and found a lot of good information.
In any forum or newsgroup there will be posts or posters that doesn't fit your personal taste, but that's expected. You just skip the unwanted. I personally don't see how Explorer77 or Word's contribution to this board can make it overall worthless?
I think your "case" is weak and pointless and the fact that you miss some of the older guys are not Explorer77 or Word's fault.

I you want "the forum to be like it was" you should try to make it, instead of nit picking on two guys out of 800...

Whoa! New input from a couple of guys. Thanks, Gentlemen, and well spoken. Good to see some un-bigoted posts here. It's cool, & I'm slightly rebuked, no problem. Some valid input in the last two posts actually, from new'ish board members, but some folks here will know how electric the board was a while back. Tim, especially, no longer with us. RIP.

>> two guys out of 800...

Used to be 2000 plus!

Disco... Can't work out if you're takin' the pee outa me or not, but whatever. Seems cool to me. Rock on, dude!

And Jackson1, no offence to you, Words posts are IMO always useless and a waste of bandwidth. When he's got something worthwhile to say I'll listen. Not so far.
