• Help Identify this RR...

Sorry for the dumb question... I should know this...

Ran across a pretty clean RR in a local used store. They want like 900 for it, but I'm really just wondering what it is. I'll figure an odd import but I'm not sure.

I can get a crappy pic up monday as it's on my phone and the data cable is at work...

White RR Guitar with white faced headstock, not an inlayed logo but painted black lettering, no USA, professional or whatever on it, just an R in a circle, black pinstripe scheme on the body it like:

Neckthrough, Rosewood fretboard with "001325" stamped at the last fret, no RR or any preceding letters. No Binding, and traditional oriented Sharkfin inlays.

Gold hardware, Stop tailpiece in shape of a v, strings through body. Controls are front mounted on the metal plate. Dual Humbuck etc basically like this guitar:

Seems like a pretty nice guitar actually, not feeling like an import. But, I'll ask the the experts. I don't know much of the RRs...

Sounds like an RR5, but I don't think I've seen one with a matching headstock before(?).

Solved... After taking time to look at that on the Jackson site, that would be an RR5 I'd agree.

Man... I guess $900 is a bit hight for that, hahaha... Jeez...

I never really even look at RRs let alone learned much of them. This one just caught my eye in a sea of Ibanez's and at the price, I figured maybe there was more to it. But, they have a nice Model 2 there for $379, so, a pricey place obviously.

        Thanks!!!

I agree with 'Bane. Sounds like an RR5.

WTF? I sent it immediately right back after I received it as I was online! I thought it was odd you never wrote back and was just wondering if you even got it.

I just needed to know the actual model etc. Not sure I'd have been able to get it either but I do have a lot of resources that are willing to assist me as I spend a lot of money with them.

My apologies for not checking back sooner to see if you'd received the IM. I'm usually a pretty TCB guy, just sorta figured you'd scored it and were busy.

I really just figured you were going to get back to me at first. Then after a few days of checking around here and not hearing from you, I just decided to order it. I figured you must've come up empty. The truck has been sitting for a couple weeks already, I just want to get it back on the road.

It's no big deal bro. Just knowing that you meant well is all that matters anyway.

                    Re: Help Identify this RR...

That's cool. I feel bad though that you prolly thought I was an ass for not getting back to ya though... I remember I was pressed for time right around when i wrote it, maybe i hit the wrong friggin button or something stupid being in a hurry or something.

Nonetheless, as I said in the IM, most yards here are late model, and they do crush old stuff quick. So, it might have beeen a stretch to get one anyways. Glad ya got one...

I had the same trouble getting a drivers side belt retractor asempbly for my 89 Blazer S-10 and after a couple months of looking and trying to repair my corroded one, I had to spend the duckies at the dealer too. I remember it being a bit pricey also.

                    well, anyways, sorry again. TTYL

I've been looking at quite a few RR5s too, but after I got my Charvels, the newer import Jacksons don't feel like that good of a deal.
