• Archtop Rhoads ?

I've searched the forum quite a bit and maybe I'm not gifted for board searches, but I didn't find anything about archtop Rhoads... Is there somewhere in the world wide web (haha) a picture of such an axe?
It would have to be pickguardless and bound (no bevels)...

    Thanks for the knowledge people!

Not a Jackson but KV Archtop would look like this?

From the shaping at the rear and the ESP logo on the pickups, I don't think so!....

Interesting. I've had this idea for a while. Might do it someday. I think it'd turn out killer, if it were done as a soft archtop, rather than a carved top. Flamed maple top, too.

Nice pic there dinkyjacksonman, too bad it's not a "simple" archtop, I think the shape on top kinda ruins it.

                      Re: Archtop Rhoads ?

BC Rich did some cool archtop V customs. I always thought it would be neat if Jackson did a King V or Rhoads like that, too.

Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the Archtop KV, I just remembering reading from Guitar Asylum's site that one was built for NAMM 2002 or something like that...

Not the greatest examples, but here's what I mean.

SLATQH is more like a carved top. Notice the "hard edges", if you will, to the top? The arch angles up sharply, and reaches an almost flat plateua on top.

Custom Soloist w/soft arch top. Think Les Paul-like, with a soft curving arch to the top. No plateau, no hard edges. Just a uniform soft angle like a shallow hill:

Totally just a style and preference thing but, IMHO, a soft arch would lend itself to a V shape much better than a carved-like top.

(And props to the MusicZoo's website for the cool pics.)
