• Whats the deal

I just noticed that the dave mustaine y2kv guitar has been taken off jacksons website and hes also been removed from thier artist page.

Also this could be coincidence, but the last time i checked out drum city guitarlands website they had 3 y2kv's in stock (about a week ago, they had been there for some time) and now they have none.

Re: Whats the deal

I've heard a couple different stories about how Dave fell of a horse and got injured, he relapsed back into drugs and was in rehab and got hurt there, blah, blah, blah. So who knows? He probably just faked being hurt to get out of the industry for awhile. I believe he'll be back eventually.

Wow, didn't notice that. That would really suck if they took his stuff down and out of the Jackson lineup for good since he's been playing Jacksons for years. Guess we'll wait and see what anyone else knows about it

Well, looks like the Y2KV is still under the new 2003 Price List under resources.

Re: Whats the deal

I believe Dave was in a car accident a year or so ago that damaged his left arm and hand. The last time I went on their site (after the press release Megadeth broke up) Dave released a very upbeat and positive letter that stated he was getting better, playing guitar again, and the doctor said he was healing nicely. The end of the note said something like "You have not heard the last of Dave Mustaine or Megadeth".

Rusting, I agree it wouldn't make sense;
Dave's the biggest living artist endorsed
by Jackson.

Irfaan, thanks for looking up the y2kv to
see they still have it on the 2003 price
list. Hopefully they're keeping the model in production.

Good thread guys! 5 stars to the both of ya!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well, Dave's been disabled for awhile now
so maybe Fackson decided to drop him and his guitar.

As for the y2kvs at drum city guitarlands
I think folks are trying to buy up guitars that are pre-Fender buyout, and also just out of uncertainty of the future of Jackson period. Either way it
seems the y2kvs would be headed up in price if they've een discontinued.

Sorry I only have "maybes"!

Dave's not listed as an endorsee either on the jackson page.... Any insider info out there reading this?
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

thanks for the reply. you made some good points. i too thought that they might have discontinued the y2kv because dave got injured and doesnt play anymore, but randy rhoads has been dead for 20 years and they still make his guitar.

Re: Whats the deal

Besides taking the Y2KV off the website, they moved the Rhoads from the Artist Signature series, to the USA select series...

I do like the Y2KV, I hope they put those back in the lineup..

Hey I have heard that Dave will be back & is doing better but it won't be soon, as for why they keep the Randy Rhodes still on Jackson the Rhodes V really made an impact on the sucsess Jackson had near their Early years I believe.

Honestly I think all of the "Ouch I hurt my wrist when I feel off a horse", "It got hurt at the doctor's office" and "I got hurt in a car wreck" is BS....

Probably just one way of saying he wants to spend time with his family.

because they were collecting dust probably or he was going to make a super ultra expensive custom shop model.
