Having owned that Stars Soloist-7 in the past, I can definitely say that it would be worth it to go for either the Star Rhoads or Kelly sevens. However, I'm currently playing a Schecter C-7 Blackjack, which is exactly what I've been looking for in a 7.
It had the 81-7, which I hated. I'm just not a fan of the 81. So, I swapped it with someone over at sevenstring.org for a 707. It will probably never see the guitar, since I also just landed a Duncan JB-7, which is really more my speed. Why, you need a pickup, Matt?

I have never heard the 81-7, so I was just wondering what it sounded like. If you decide to unload the 707, let me know, I have a project that could use it...
#1 - KILLER Guitar!!!!!!! I vaguely remember taking an order for Blair Witch inlays - did you order that through me???

#1 - Nope, I ordered it through Kevin Easton when he was in charge of the friends of the family program.
#2 - I love it. I've sold that one though, since I know have one that is covered in a Hazelnut Lizard leather. The distortion on the Rk is very much like the regular duals, but a bit smoother to my ears. However, the clean sounds are just out of this world, head and shoulders above any other Mesa amp.
