Who is permitted to have their gear in plain view?
Re: Who is permitted to have their gear in plain v
My music gear lives in the kitchen. I live in a apartment in our hotel, and the kitchen has the most space. Our apartment is 3 rooms connected together. When we had a house I had my own music room.
Re: Who is permitted to have their gear in plain v
I have a dedicated theater room in the basement. I have my guitars on the walls in there, and my guitar half stack and bass half stack are out as well.
The theater is my special room. The kids are allowed to watch movies down there, but it is not a playroom, and they are expected to behave while in there. If they do not, there are repercutions. My wife respects that this is my space, and respects the rules I enforce for that space.
As far as having equipment out in the open in our main living area, I usually keep a bass handy in the computer room on the main floor. She is fine with this as well. The bass in my study is not my "A" bass, and if gets knocked off the stand, well, that is the price of keeping it in an unsupervised area. I accept this.

Good Lord! The rod up that man's butt must have a rod up its butt!

Ive got my computer/music room dedicated to just that... but then again, this is my house so I do what I want either way.
Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...
Re: Who is permitted to have their gear in plain view?
The only guitar I keep in view in the front room is the Nylon Acoustic. All Amps, Guitars, Cabs, and everything musical is in the office / play / noise room. I don't like equipment out front. I worry about assholes looking in the front window.

I have an office where most everything is kept. Every once in a while a guitar floats into another room. My wife keeps a few guitars in her office. In our bedroom there is a wall of guitar cases.

Im a fucking slob. I got 46 guitars in just about every room of the house, guitar cables hanging off of lamp shades, guitar shipping boxes in the kitchen, on the treadmill. Hell I have one shipping box that has been sitting in the living room for about 3 weeks. Can you tell I live alone?.........

I've got a separate music/studio room, myself. It's so messy and full of random gear and guitar parts that my wife is afraid to enter!

Oh man, everything of mine is hidden. My Gibson & G&L are in my room in their hardshell cases, my acoustics are in my closet in their cases along with my XTL and my 2x12 cab has a sheet over it (Randall dosen't make a cover for this cab) and doubles as my coffee table, lol. When I get a place of my own I'll display everything proudly, till then, no one knows...
