Re: Who is permitted to have their gear in plain v

I have a jam/computer room of my own which holds the Jackson shrine of doom, 2 always/but sometimes 4 full stacks, an ass load of rack and recording gear, over a thousand guitar mags and 4 computers.....the wife could care less

I too have a office that is MY room...recording gear / computers / and guitars on the wall...I work at home most of the time and my wife loves the guitars on the wall, just hates to see the cases...

I have a very understanding wife, this is just one corner of our living room (I don't have pictures of the other side of the room but it pretty much looks similar) http://www.pixum.nl/members/freddons/?ac...706e8487d014631

I keep everything except a cheap acoustic in the room behind the garage, which I´ve converted from what I guess was some kind of storage room to a room for playing music, watching hockey and drinking beer in. It works out great.

Re: Who is permitted to have their gear in plain view?

If it was up to my wife, my equipment wouldn't even be in my basement. I tried putting a small boutique amp and a very fancy guitar in the family room. Yea... right.
So.. to answer your question. No. I am not permitted to have any of my gear in plain view or partial view.

Re: Who is permitted to have their gear in plain view?

I have a small practice amp tucked under an end table in my living room and usually have a guitar within reach on a stand. My dining room usually has a spare 4x12 kicking around that either me or my other guitar player was too lazy to take downstairs and my stack of guitar cases and a couple guitars on stands. I live alone so I have free rein

i have an ofice/studio room where the bulk of my shit is. the cabs and heads stay in the basement. and i have a stack of the bands guitars that we take to gigs that sits out in the living room untill show days. oh, and i tend to turn the living room table into a guitar workstation on a regular basis.
sure my old lady doesn't like it. but thats what she gets for hooking up with musician.

i suspect i'm single because i've always had a sharp looking guitar in my room. my WRMG was in some way a threat to the last girl. it's right next to the single bed, and i rent this one tiny room in a huge shared house. in fact, no girl i've ever been with has ever shown an interest in guitars. they like their clothes/jewelery, we like our guitars/amps/recording gear.

Re: Who is permitted to have their gear in plain view?

My wife (5 weeks and counting! ) likes my guitars, but I keep most of my gear out of site. In the living room I always have my classical and an electric joins in now and then. Right now I have my POD on the coffee table too. I got it so I wouldn't have to lug around my 1/2 stack. The only thing she doesn't care for is my foot stool for playing classical. She always seems to catch a toe on it, so it often gets moved over by the guitar and not in front of the couch. I have two guitar hangers on the wall in the living room, one in my room and one in my brothers room. Theres also a couple of stands floating about somewhere but i mostly keep my kit in the spare room.
