• Poll: What brand to label my new project as?

Im starting a new project. This will be my first complete build including all wood/finishing work.

Im starting off with a Charvel Rhoads body with a slant hum at the bridge and single coil at the neck. The neck will be a Jackson.

My question is, what do I label this guitar as when I refin the headstock? Im thinking Charvel, as the body IMO is the "heart" of the guitar... necks are just added on. So, whats your opinion? I mean come on, how many Charvel Rhoads do you see now adays?

I voted Jackson, simply because when I see that Roads shape, I always think "Jackson".

      Respectfully....i couldn't disagree more.

As far as the logo, If it's a Rhoads body then leave the Jackson logo on the neck you are getting.

I'd go with Charvel though, considering the body.

Well I guess I should also mention that this guitar will have on mission: To look, feel, and be nothing but 80's. When I hear "Charvel" I think of an older 80's vintage guitar used by hairbands (not limiting it to that so please dont kill me! ). When I hear Jackson, I think of more cutting edge metal. Hard to put into words I guess... I know both names are from the same genre, but one "survived" more than the other to this day, leaving the otherone behind in its hayday.

Its not like Im labeling it as an SD guitar or anything... just a regular old Charvie or Jackson customized by me, for me. Besides, Ive never owned a Charvel so I figure why not make my first one really mean something to me?

                            But Rhoads = Jackson IMO

You don't deserve to label it as a Charvel now, so stick with the Jackson name that's on the neck. (J/K)
