• Need Help Identifying a Rhoads

Hi guys,I've found this local sale recently. The seller says its a Dan Spitz custom shop at 6.5/10 condition, SN RR2075, made in 1987, modded pickup system(skipped the boost).missing backplate, trem bar is not original, some heavy fret wear,no further infomation for the moment. Any thoughts? what a fair price should be?
Many thanks!Sorry for big pics

Here's the first pic:

If it's the real thing, I'd say about $3000 to start.

alright, the enter trick really helps...

I like the pins and the blue binding on headstock.
this really seems custom to me. is the board rosewood?
I'm not a big fan of the toons to be honest, is it decal or paint?

sorry, but I really can't tell about the value.
looking at the first sharkfin, the neck really has some experience I guess. the dings and dangs are average considering she's 20 years old...

I'm afraid I can't be of real help here.

Re: Need Help Identifying a Rhoads

Those are some massive pics, but I managed to get them to work by repeatedly copying / pasting and hitting enter, and oh thank god - I thought someone had found my holy grail and I was going to have to loose the will to live!

That appears to be one of Danny's guitars, but it's not one of his better known comic guitars (TMNT or Howard) and with the speach bubbles, it's not the best looking either. I've seen a guitar very similar to that in a thread here, pictured at the HardRock cafe in Hong Kong or somewhere...

Is there any authentication / documentation with the guitar?

Fair prices are very subjective - I'd kill for Danny's Turtles or Howard the Duck guitars, but that's not one that I'd go mad for - Personally, I'd consider up to $2500, but not much more......

Rosewood board? doesnt look like to be huh?

to the access problem,or maybe you could right click those links and save those pics to your local hard drive then view it fast and easy

Danny's earlier guitars all had maple boards so that fits....

..Jani should be along in a minute, so he may well have more to say on this guitar - good luck, and if you don't want to pursue it, let me know

the link
Ive tried using MSN Spaces' album(maybe faster for you),but pic files are automatically compressed(4XX KB original -> 40kb )...i think it's better to keep it original

Everything matches for a Spitz rhoads but I don't recall seeing that graphic. 87 is too early for replicas though. I'm teaching at the local polytechnic for another two hours but I will check my Spitz pics then. I have one of his guitars and one replica.
Definately over 2K USD in any case...

That's definitely a Spitz graphic. Someone posted a pic of it once before with Danny playing it.
