Remember Toby's Hot Rod Flame strathead Charvel?....That was a strathead from the custom shop, and the only reason he was able to get it was because he was from Australia as well.

[/ QUOTE ]
I am from Switzerland. But afaik, now not even from Switzerland I could get a Strathead again, because of FMIC as the mother company of Charvel/Jackson doesn't want it.

wow. I'm not a huge fan of stratheads, neither of rosewood-dot-boards and I don't really dig gold hardware, but this one looks just great...
anyone got an explanation?

[/ QUOTE ]
It's brazilian rosewood.

Re: Custom shop prices

The only way you're getting a strahead from the custom shop is if it's attached to a custom PC1.
That being said, there's a lot that can be done with a PC1 if you like the base specs.

You may also want to check out a PC1, since they now come with a strathead. More beefy neck than a Dinky, but very nice.

As soon as they open the Strat heads on the CS I am putting an order for that very same guitar.

Re: Custom shop prices

anyone know what it would be for a WR1 in a 3-colour sunburst (that's right, like you'd get on a strat), the usual WR1 hardware but with a sustaniac instead of a humbucker at the neck position. oh, carved top aswell. i wonder if it would be like asking the custom shop to tear my bank account apart, eat it and spit it back at me.

You mean the "fellas" at your LOCAL shop, right? Not the fellas at the Custom Shop....as I was about to rip you for not knowing the dif between a Dinky & Soloist if that were the case!

If i got a pc1 I would want a hum in the neck and no mid pup. you reckon they could do that?

Re: Custom shop prices

That would make it a custom piece, and not a PC1 anymore. My guess is you´d be paying about $1000 for that neck humbucker, and might lose the strat headstock in the process. But I actually don´t know if you can make custom variations and still have it counted as a PC1, thus still being able to have a strathead. I doubt it, though.

Re: Custom shop prices

The quoted price you get from the form is full retail. Contact a dealer, the actual price will be much less than $5000... Close to your target, but you'll need an official quote from a dealer to figure exact pricing.

as a general rule, is finance an option on custom made guitars? i once asked about it years ago and was told a full deposit is required.
