Re: Custom Refin -- What are my choices

saw the body and the neck. cool neck; is that the one that peedenmark had? very nice. anyway, the body is rough cut, and looks like a nice piece of maple; there's a bit of flaminess on the treble side, and it should look neat in that trans red.

Thanks for the news

Yeah, that's the same neck.

I'll be sure to post pics when the project is completed.

I was thinking about this one Sample Graphic but the price is higher that what I want to spend. I'm now thinking about the 'glow-in-the-dark'.

I do remember the deanne girl--I think I'll contact her next.

Who's this person? Is she local? I've got a Model 3A that I want to have re-finned myself. (just in a solid color, the same as it is now)

She is from cali. I got a quote back from her on the graphic I wanted and she was about 60% cheaper than what I was quoted from Lee (rightly so) but for this beater of mine, I'm happy with a 60% discount. Here is her website http://www.customairbrush.com/. She said her cost included
[ QUOTE ]
start by sanding down the first few layers of paint and then re-primer and base the guitar. I lay down the graphics and then I'll send you a digital picture of the guitar. Once you approve it I lay down about 4 coats of automotive clear and then once that's dry I wetsand and buff the guitar for a smooth glossy finish

[/ QUOTE ]

I really am going to consider working with her on this project. She did give me her nunber so I'll be calling sometime soon.

i have nothing but praise for daneen's work. my Starfield on my DXMG is... jawdropping. and cheap! compared to Lee, others.

Daneen is most awesome. That "Buttload of Skulls" Warrior was originally mine. I bought it from Chuk when it was jet black and I figured it needed some new life and went with the Skulls.

The first one she ever did for me though was this awesome multi color Chinese Dragon:

And of course my mom's tribute guitar, which Daneen painted from a simple Holy Card:

Feelin' like I shoulda kept my feet on the ground
Waitin' for the sun to appear..."

Try Jeremy over at http://www.lgmguitars.com , the guy does stellar work and is very accommodating. He builds his own axes and also paints for Mark Wood Violins http://www.woodviolins.com/
He did the inlay on one of my Ibanez guitars.
I'm planning on having him refin my Charvel.
(BTW, take a look under the custom electric section.)
