shit... give me that GMW NOW!! awesome to see the 24th inlay sharkie.

i LOVE flame finishes, but i HATE it when they are 100% symetric..

That GMW really is beautiful How do you like it now, given the 'history' of the guitar?

[/ QUOTE ]

It is beautiful Neilli, Dan did a great job on the graphic, it's perfect and just how I wanted it to be. The rest of the guitar, well, it's not really a guitar, the neck is off and I'm trying to salvage the graphic on the headstock by only replacing the fretboard. It will probably take a while but I can wait.

I still love the guitar and it's overall concept, so I want to see it done properly.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that it's still not right....

All the sudden I feel the need for flames. The Charvel with the red flames is just killer.

I don't get why GMP called those finishes ghost flames? I mean, to me, the definition of ghost flames is that they are transparent - you can see through them. Maybe it's just the pics, but they don't seem transparent at all.

Don't get me wrong, though. Those are absolutely KILLER flame jobs. Just not "ghost"-like.

[/ QUOTE ]
that was my thinking on those too.

The Jacksons & Charvel are what I think of when someone says "ghost flames". The GMPs are very very cool, but not ghostly at all.

It's like, the Jackson finishes are "effects" compared to the GMP "graphics". Or something

lol true, GMP should change the name of the design, but its still great none the less!

Re: Some Ghost Flame comparisons

I always considered the GMP flames to be "Tribal Flames" they really aren't ghostly at all as some have noted. No offense at all to the amazing artists that work for Jackson but Mike Learn aside, GMP had the best graphics I've ever seen on guitars. Everytime I see one I'm just floored by how incredible the work is.
