hey jerry, i highly doubt it would take years. six months is as ridiculous. they produce about 20-25 pieces per month in the custom shop. for what you'd want, i'd expect way longer than six months. that's normal.

It wouldn't be an issue (the wait) if I was told up front. You'd think that an 'authorized dealer' would be a little bit more in the know. I just wish I could deal with Jackson directly instead of dealing with (coughguitarcentercough)
Here's a better question, anyone know of a really good authorized dealer to go through to order a custom shop guitar?
Btw, my comment wasn't meant to dig at Jackson. There's just a huge difference between what was told to me and peoples actual experience (That I have read on here) I think i might be better off just buying off the rack RR1's, with my lack of patience and blood pressure I'd never live to see the custom shop one made
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil
I've had CS orders with another major company and it took 10 months - 1 year.
I've heard multiple reasons from numerous CS orders from various guitar companies: The guitar is done and we're waiting on the bridge, pick-ups, etc... The pick-up company wasn't shipping anything to them until they pay the outstanding bill... Same goes for the dealer not getting the guitar since his bill was past due. There is so much involved but all you hear is they're working on it and try back next week. Is it possible.... the "paid-up-to-date dealer" with the best relationship and good communication will get his quicker? Sad but... true.
I bought a Charvel that was AFU. I sent it back and they are rebuilding the whole guitar. Do you think my wait time would be about the same as a new custom oreder?
Congrats! Glad you finally got it. This is the exact reason I won't order any more CS axes. There's just no way I have the patience to wait over a year for a guitar! Waiting two months for an import is killing me!
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.
