Re: New for 2006 Jackson PDF\'s

Yea it would be, a real shame IMO. At the same time I understand how badly Charvel's rep was damaged by crappy imports (not the model series) in the past. I can only hope in time they will build back that rep to the point where they feel comfortable to bring back some nicer imports. In the meantime they could stand to make signature charvels of more modern artists. The Demartinis and EVH's are great but isn't Jim Root a big Charvel fan? They need to bring in some of the younger crowd with some more recent names.

They don't need to do that with Charvel. The 80s are over They want to keep Charvel an exclusive brand, CS quality with stock models. Jackson's there for the kids.

I can't wait to hear about this new trem either...

          [/ QUOTE ]

Reading the PDF it doesn't seem like there are any new trems. It lists it as, "Jackson Licensed Floyd Rose Low Profile" which sounds ALOT like the JT-580 LP... What am I missing here? Also in the pics it LOOKS like a JT-580 LP.

On the other thread there's a mention about a new import bridge.

Did you read the PDF though. The specs don't mention anything that sounds different and these are the 2006 models. Why would the 2006 catalog not include them?

But the pics also don't show the binding on the RR3 and KE3, though it's listed in the specs.

Well the specs don't specify it's a JT580LP either... So who knows.

I certainly hope it's new as I dont care for the JT-580 LP.

That trem is clearly revised. The baseplate and route is more squared off, like an OFR. The old JT580 had an angled baseplate & route. So, at the least, it would seem like an OFR would have a better replacement "fit". Whether the materials, etc. of the new trem are also upgraded remains to be seen.

those pics arent the exact guitars. a lot of them have duncan designed pickups still in there, plus the jt580 i can see on a couple .. but th pic imo is just a placeholder so to speak

In years of abuse i've never had a single problem with any of the JT580LP's on my imports, so i dont' care about a trem change.

Maybe the new trems will be like the Floyd Rose 2 licensed things on the Fender Richie Sambora model...

I noticed that too... I was expecting some kind of Fusion return for 2006. We'll have to keep waiing though.
