Re: My little guitar collection... but it\'s growin
I've never really been a fan of rosewood boards.
My collection will be getting one when my JDR-94/PS-2 hybrid project is finished.
It's basicaly a JDR-94 body that has been converted to a single hum and I'm putting a PS-2 (rosewood board) neck on it. It's taking a while as we (my father-in-law and I) have changed the paint scheme a couple of times. Minor stuff, but it takes time.
The repro is going in for a pro clear respray.
I didn't like the way the clear turned out on it after it cured. I could never get it to smooth out to a glass finish.
Hey... I did that one all by myself, so all things considered, a clear respray is not to bad. The original clear I put on it came off pretty easy without damaging the underlying paint. Got lucky on that one.

The Squire strat was completely re-wired with CTS 500k pots,
Duncan Distortion in the bridge position,
DiMarzio HS2 in the neck position,
brass sustain block added to the vtrem,
fret dress... it goes on.
It's one of those Chinese built Squire Affinity specials from MF that I got for $149.
Bought it as a beater to kick around on but I was very surprised how nice the finish is and the neck is very well made. Overall, a very solid guitar. Who knew.

I know the feeling, I had to peel off my first attempt at clear coat and spray over (first application was too thick), fortunately it worked out ok.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
