Re: SLATQH vs Horizon custom
It matters to me if it is made in the USA because:
Money spent here stays here. Provides Jobs for Americans. If you want to send your money to Japan go ahead. And I am not even considering the fact that most of esp's designs are stolen from American made guitars. Also they cost more than USA jacksons. I realize a lot of guys from the board aren't from USA and could give a sh*t and I am cool with that.
Oh yea to answer the question as to why Esp's cost more. I would only guess partly because of the amount of endorsee's being paid to play their guitars. And mostly cause people will pay it cause there favorite player plays them.

The body binding on the ESP is nice - just not $900 nice. Endorsers cost a lotta dough, though...750xl, 88LE, AT1, Roswell Pro, SG-X, 4 others...
Stilletto Duece 1/2 Stack, MkIII Mini-Stack, J-Station, 12 spaces of misc rack stuff, Sonar 4, Event 20/20, misc outboard stuff...
Why do I still want MORE?

But the Jackson's missing 2 frets! Not that I wouldn't love to own it and play it anyway.

Re: SLATQH vs Horizon custom
The Jackson is cheaper because Jacksons have ALWAYS been best bang for the buck, and Im really ****ing suprised im the one to point this out.
The reason USA is better than Japanese, (and im not knocking Japanese guitars at all, if I ever needed a quick soloist, i would buy one of those Japanese soloist pros, that were made just like the USA ones were.)
Anyway, US skilled labor costs more than japanese hirimoto here is a bowl of rice labor.
The US money is spent here, and helps our economy. If people can spend money here, it means there are jobs here.
Yeah I know people live outside the US< but I live in the US, and I need the USA to have a good economy.
That is why i support US labor.
