3. Should we be using a pickup/bridge/accessory (D-Tuna for example) that we're not?

4. What sucks in the current line (let me guess: everything? LOL already!!!)

5. When is the last time you bought a "new" Charvel or Jackson?

There's nothing like a little qualitative research on a 3-day weekend (is this just a sorry excuse to help me justify the school loans for my dust garnering multi-useless degree? ... maybe)

2- i like all the finishes, good selection other than on the imports, however, i would kill for a RR5 with chrome hardware. i have one and it rocks but i'd go nuts if i could get the same axe with chrome stuff in place of gold.

3- seems to me that you have that one covered

4- understanding of personal preference demands i not reply to this one

WE're working on the stickers. Tim Wilson came up with some great ideas - we just need to get an artist to finish them. You're right, I prefer the reverse headstock too. My # 1 Strat is the '68 Reverse Special.

Guess I'll chime in:

1. Lose the new Japanese Charvels. I know FMIC had nothing to do with them but they were WAY off target. If you're going to make a Charvel, make a Charvel and not an overpriced, modified Jackson. Also, lose the modified strat headstock, commonly known as the "sears headstock". Everyone wants the strat headstocks back but if you can't, don't monkey around, just use the pointy. Also, don't put gold Charvel logos on import guitars!!!!! major, major no-no.

2. Graphics. Charvel/Jackson was the originator of wild and cool graphics. FMIC should capitalize on that history and not forget who the innovator was in that department. Bring back more of the old school graphics while at the same time surprising the marketplace with new and cool graphics.

3. The STAR, let me repeat.... THE STAR BODY!!!! This was a Charvel original for godsakes!!!!! EVH even played one. It still blows my mind that C/J has not produced a production bolt-on Charvel Star(forget the GC made in India model) or a production neck-thru Jackson USA Star. Jackson brought the Warrior back a few years ago and there's NO WAY the Warrior will sell as well as the Star.

4. JT-580 trems on the imports. There have been 4 or 5 different versions of the JT-580 from 1994 to present. The first couple versions were pretty decent. The current version stinks horribly. I would much rather have a JT-500 trem with a threaded collar arm than a current JT-580.

5. Chrome hardware on the imports, lose it! Stick with black hardware.

1. Cheaper neck-thru imports. Don't sell them for so much that I feel that searching for a used USA model is the better deal.

2. My favorite rant: Japan got them, and so did Europe, so enough of it and bring a 24-fret Rhoads to the US already.

3. I kinda like the string-thru-body ones, and think a few more would be cool.

4. Chrome looks good on Eerie dess and trans blue finishes, but other than that, I could care less for it and would like to see black hardware return.

5. More models with neck binding

6. Replacement necks! Since Fender (who offers replacement necks, bodies, and damn near everything else) is now in charge, I'm placing a lot of hopes on this one. If they don't want to do things like more models with binding, then with replacement necks we can help ourselves to it if we want to without having to buy an entirely new guitar.

24-fret Rhoads are not available in Europe. They're available in Finland or something, but I have yet to find one in German stores, and I'm pretty damn sure you won't find one in France or Britain.

Sorry, Greg, but I couldn't disagree more. Absent the true strathead, J/C needs some reasonably-close-to-it shape. As narrow-minded as it is, a HUGE number of guitarists (...read: buyers) associate the pointy headstock with bad 80s hair bands, and won't have anything to do with it. I love pointies too, but the original Charvels were stratheads and the company NEEDS it or something like it. ...Besides, variety is the spice of life.

Saying it's available in Europe when it's just Finland is like saying something's available in the US when you can get it in Alaska exclusively.
Either way a 24 fret Rhoads sounds like a cool idea to me, preferably without pickguard. I hate pickguards...

My 2000 or 2001 Catalog has the XTRR as a 24 fret.

I also belive the body is smaller, not just simply a reverse headstock.
