This is essentially, in Marine terms, a Division sized entity ran and controlled by 5 people...not an easy task [img]/images/graemlins/refuse.gif[/img]

I think people think that boards, because they have a membership to them, think they are a piece of them so to speak and talk freely of "community" and other terms..which is not accurate.

We are invited guests and members, nothing more or less.

The JCF is a private board ran as the owner/admins see fit...community is a misnomer.

I have not always agreed with the decisions here, have even been a part of some of the active and behind the scenes meyhem here....and probably by all rights should have been banned, but, for whatever reason the admins allowed me to stay (thanks, by the way). It doesn't matter what I feel or think..it's not my house....it's theirs....end of story.

I'm not really that active here anymore, primarilly as I only have 1 Jackson to my name and feel kinda funny here, but, I do have some great friends here and hang on a few other boards, which is also cool.

The admins do a great job....it has to be tough, and regardless of what is seen on the open board, much we will never (and shouldn't know about) happens and they make their decisions for the good and the best interest of the whole board.

With all due respect, you have no idea of how these came to be available again. And that's all I can say about that.

Now, back to what this thread was about....KUDOS to Kevin. It's all about tolerance and respect - the Golden Rule. None of us are going to agree 100% of the time, and we are all going to read a post at some point that jerks our chain. My main reason for being here is to make sure the facts are straight, answer questions every now and then, ask some opinions from time to time, and help someone out if they can't find help through "normal" channels.

I'm guilty of ruining Kevin's JCF utopia at times, we all are. All Kevin is asking for is a little common sense, respect, and to THINK before you post.

We're all here because we love Jackson and Charvel guitars. Every time you quash a newbie for asking "dumb" questions, you kill some of their enthusiasm for J/C and this board. That's not cool - for the brands or for you members here!

That being said, I encourage you all to re-read Kevin's initial post, think about the message, and take it for what it is. A simple request.

The JCF is not perfect and for that matter 99.9% of the sites out there. I will not point fingers but there is a site for a beloved guitar brand that the main moderator is Hitler's bastard child.
So.... all things being equal (humans, drung humans, doped humans, dumb humans, etc.) this place is pretty cool.

A few years back there was a site for PRS aficionados, very cool site, great moderators (i.e. fair, friendly and consistent) and guess what all good things come to an end. PRS's suits shut them down.
Enjoy it while we can fellas and stop slinging shiznit. Its not worth it.

OK, I've got two minutes to kill so I'll throw my two cents in here. The JCF is the best place on the net, period. Sure there are other forums and other nice people, but for some reason the JCF stands out. I have met some good people here and made some good friends. I think the admins do a great job and I love them all, even Tekky.

But...

This place is run my humans and inhabited by humans. Any time a post like this is made, it's only got one place to go. Straight to the shi++er.

You can't please everyone all the time. Kevin, don't pull your hair out over the JCF. You guys do the best job you can, and that's better than 99% of the other forums on the net. Just do the job you have to do, and when guys like me bitch about a thread being deleted or someones pics being sensored, just talk about me behind my back with the other admins [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Seriously, don't sweat the small stuff.
