no offense but this is about to deteriorate in exactly what the point of the post was .. This was more or less because I saw some issues over a newbie posting and some giving him shit and others defending him. I just want people to think before thing go sour ...no more no less
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes!~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~
Kev: Not trying to tell you how to run this place, but if I were you (which obviously I'm not!), I'd lock this thread before it does exactly what you're trying to avoid.....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I'd like one where threads don't get deleted for no apparent reason.

Yeah, like that recent thread where a European member had a locking nut problem (nut shifted too far to one side) and he was asking how to fix it. Did the dealer or Jackson ever give him any help? That thread just vanished in thin air.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I think the search function is pretty bad, You gotta wait like 5 minutes to be able to search again.

Well, after you do your search, if you *right* click on the threads, you can open as many searches as you want in a new window.

I agree with Kev about the poor newbies. I see alot of people really slamming them for mistakes that are well..pretty minor. Sure some stuff such as trying to sell stuff is bad but we were all newbies once.
Removed the stuff about the guy with the locknut issue because its irrelevant now that Kev explained what happened.

If you get no results you are screwed for the next five minutes

Again .. no apparent reason.. the person who started the thread requested it be moved..
BTW FWIW we don't hide or bury threads from John. We do not protect the company so to speak.. If they are getting slammed without merit then we will usually try and help out but if it is earned then we don't get involved .

Kev, this place is still 100x better than most boards on the net, and the issues are mostly of personality ones (people bitching and complaining while others can calmly talk about things) which ya can't do anything about. But all in all this is a great place. So shit gets outta hand once in awhile...nothing's perfect. But ya'll do your jobs and mostly everything is in check. Hell, I'm just happy it's as good as it is
Agreed - I think the Admins here are doing a fine job.
However, what I'd like to see is the same open door to Jackson and the discussion of favored changes and additions to production models that the Admins have enjoyed, which resulted in the availability of Stratheads on Charvels. I'm not dumb enough to believe that John Walker or anyone else at JCMI were solely responsible for pushing the idea through and getting FMIC to agree to the upcharge on Custom Charvels.
So now that the Strathead issue has been somewhat resolved, and before the next round of "negotiations" regarding getting Stratheads on Jackson Customs, how about one of you guys pushing in favor of someone else's idea like small upcharges (or no upcharge, since the "$$" problem with doing this has never been adequately explained) on USA Selects for reverse heads, hardware color, pickup routes, no inlays, and the like?
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Newc, just how much of a conspiracy threorist are you, bro? I mean, come on. Do you really think that custom Charvel stratheads were allowed just because the admins advocated for it? I mean, jeez. There were only like a thousand others of us begging in countless posts for the past few years.
And, BTW, weren't you the guy that repeatedly said Fender would NEVER EVER allow it?
Dude, THE GRASSY KNOLL! There was a second shooter on the grassy knoll!
