  • Thinking about customs...

Thinking about steping it up to a custom shop in about a year. Wondering what people think about this. Im looking to get a 7 string soloist, but with a sharper body like the ibanez Uv7bk, and a similar color scheme. I think it looks badass so dont make fun of me because i used the dreaded i word yet. I love the green logo, inlays and knobs. Im just curious if the custom shop would do the body work. And what that would mean pricewise. If anyone could give me an idea of a very general price on costum orders with body work that would help alot. And i know the best way is for a quote. I'd have thought that the CS would be able to accomodate the body shape without much of a problem (unless you want to exactly copy an Ibanez body).

As for the rest of it, what matters is if you like the green dots, logo etc, not what the rest of us think.....

Why not just get the Ibanez?

Agreed. It'd look killer with the green binding.

It's probably not going to come to 3k.
a good dealer could probably get it for low 2 to 2.5k.

+1 on green binding. That would look cool. *uh!* Guitargasm!

Yeah I would say about 2.5K.

Custom shops are a cut above and definitely worth it from my experience.

I like the pointed horns also.

                            "any Custom Shape ($240)"

This is the list price from the custom shop quote form. IMO "Ibanez RG" would definitely constitute a custom shape.

List price of that guitar would be in the >4k range.... just under 3k or so is not unrealistic depending on the exact options and dealer.

Thanks alot.......2.5k would be amazing but i could settle with three, cause the custom shop quote form says 4k. Anyway thanks alot for all the insight. I cant wait to get on this. I think i might get a pickguard for it aswell like the UV7 but who knows
