• Major difficulty finding a trem arm

Ive got a Charvel from about 95 with a low profile style charvel floyd style trem. The arm is a a screw-in type with approx. 5 mm radius which is fine but I need one with a long screw thread section, (about 2cm) most are over 1.5cm, as it does catch the threads in the unit.

Anyhelp MUCH appreciated

YOu can also retrofit almost any Floyd style trem with an OFR bar from www.stewmac.com

<font color="aqua">agreed, those are a much better setup than the older style, in my opinion, but thanks so much Ron - </font>

Re: Major difficulty finding a trem arm

My friend (who is more technical than me) has tried a floyd rose arm (with bush) as I wanted to replace the screw-in type, and he couldn't, some thing to with the congiration of the unit and the deepness of the arm hole into the bottom section of the floyd unit. So I bought a normal scream in floyd arm and the thread section doesn't catch. So looks like I'm prett screwed. BALLS!!

I post my friends reason for the w/bush type arm not working asap.

Re: Major difficulty finding a trem arm

Heres my friends explanation of the replacement arim problem:

"The string block for the bridge has been designed to extend all the way to the bottom of the bridge plate i.e. all the way under where the bar normally slots in. Charvel then drilled a hole into the block and threaded the hold to take a screw in bar. So, instead of having a separate base assembly to hold the bar (which would be easy to replace), if you wanted to the bar, the string block would have to be replaced and then the bolt type opening on top of the bridge plate would have to be removed (either knocked or drilled out as it’s fitted like a rivet), and then a new bar and base fitted"

Re: Major difficulty finding a trem arm

Which means to change to a new bar, you need a new insert, and to change to the new insert, you need a new block.

Ditch the trem and get an OFR.

A little resurectum. Who's hoarding all of the Floyd parts??
I can't seem to find any one with(in stock) a black trem arm & threaded post(portion that mounts to the trem plate).
Black pup rings also. I've had two orders cancelled in the past week due to lack of stock.
