The response....

I am very close to Dave and know the truth and details of what has gone down between he and Jackson and it is MUCH different than what this release is saying. To put it simply, this release and other information coming from Jackson to its dealers is nothing more than damage control.

Dave is currently in the design and prototype stages with another first class guitar company who will be producing a completely new (and VERY cool, from what I've seen) signature model and Dave will not let Jackson's damage control force him into a premature announcement.

Good stuff, more power to him. I just hope he comes out with a nice affordable model

I thought he couldn't play guitar anymore? Didn't he hurt his arm falling off a horse or something.

Yep, and it will be manufactured overseas just like the rest of the models from the same manufacturer. Want to venture a guess ?? I will give you a hint, they have a 3 letter name.

I'm sure that this situation comes down to the theme of Extreme's "III Sides":

Side I : FMIC/Jackson
Side II : Dave Mustaine
Side III: THE TRUTH

Neither FMIC nor Dave will give us the truth, and thesmokinggun.com probably doesn't consider the truth newsworthy, so

ESP huh? No surprise there. They've been riding Jackson's ass for years now, and it's not hard for me to imagine ESP taking it's current King-V knock-off, putting DM's name on it, and doubling the price.

Jackson really needs to start fighting back and being more aggressive with ESP.

if they come up with a new model for Dave.. that would explain why ESP doesn't have a V model in their 2003 line-up
