DK2's and 3's were pro series made in Japan...as were all pros made in Japan. (up until 2011)
They're currently Indonesian and Mexican.
The mix of chrome and black hardware suggest to me the neck was added by a previous owner. I may be wrong, but the model is confusing me off the top of my head.
I'd suggest removing the neck and checking the date/model stamps in the pocket and on the neck heel. If the body and/or neck is actually Japanese made, they should have stamps. The 9611xxx serial indicates 1998-99, but I wouldn't put much faith in that considering it may not be all original.96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

I did remove the neck and found this: https://imgur.com/a/iiGFt

So its a Jackson ATX?

They come in solid colors too. Its odd that some of them seem to have reverse headstocks and some dont.
What does your control cavity look like? Is it the bigger ontario sized one or an sd charvel looking thing?Last edited by Carbuff; 02-28-2018, 12:07 PM.

Yeah, yours has the smaller sd style cavity like the atx in the pic. Most Dinky style imports have the larger ontario style route. Interesting. I think they were a fairly budget offering at the time.

PCS - Player's Choice Series RR - just like his black/gold one.
That was available from 1993 to 1994 acordenly to the offical catalogs. However any orders after came only with RR serials aka Custom Shop. I found out the hard way when I got RR2772 new in Denmark January 1997 having put it in the order summer 1996. I know RR2795 is also one. It was on US Ebay years ago. Still got RR2772 and love it!

Great info... I'm still a bit confused about my Jackson, though...
I bought it new, sometime in the 1990s from Musician's Friend.
I remember it was called a "Dinky Reverse" (I don't remember any other designations like "DK").
It has a reverse headstock, rosewood board with dots, HSS pickups, and a Floyd Rose Lic. that is NOT RECESSED.
I have not been able to find pics of guitars that are exactly like it.
All of the similar ones I've found have the Floyd recessed into the body.
It has an 8 digit serial#, on a sticker on the back of the headstock.
Serial is: "65007840".
