Re: Storing My Jackson

well when ever any of my guitars are not in use i keep them in there hardshell cases. i also keep them in a room that is stable on temp, for example, "leaving the guitar next to a drafty window in the winter or right next to some kind of heater or AC unit were the temp will change alot when those units turn on and off is a bad idea".

thats all i do... also dont store yoru guitar out in your for long periods of time....

i look at it this way, if its a condition i would not want to be left in, then i wont leave my guitar there...

      2. No. Don't forget the truss rod. Its tension should be in balance with the strings.

Also, wiping down the strings/trem and other things that you touch is a good idea. Helps combat corrosion.

putting silicogel (spelling?) bag into case will be useful as well

Yep, if you don't use silica gel, the first things to absorb moisture are usually the strings and then the remaining metal fittings (trem/bridge and pickup coils) on the guitar. Depending of the length of time in the case of course.

That is the white stuff in the little white bags ...they absorb moisture

They are called dessicants, shipping companies generally sell them.

there should always be silica gel sachets in every guitar case. if you don't get one with your case, whinge like fuck. it's like asking your mrs not to wear perfume - starts to smell bad.
