    Re: jackson 7 strings

I own a neck-thru BC Rich 7 string NAMM V which is very cool. I also have a custom baritone guitar that can go as low and be a lot easier on the hands. I'm not sure if Jackson builds or has any plans on a baritone guitar, as these guitars can get very heavy without knocking your hands out!

I do believe the Kelly and Rhoads had Floyds and TOMs.

The RR7 models didn't have Floyds available,as for the Kelly I'm not sure.

I thought this was a 6-string baritone, not a 7-string. Is it still in production, anyway? It's not listed on the Jackson site.

you are correct, it is a 6 string baritone. But I thought that was plexed's point, that it can go as low as a 7 string but is easier on the hands. Not sure if it's still in production.

If I could *find* a COW to play I might own one. In other news, Guitar Center still sucks.

Gotta go to Hotlicks in Waldorf for the COWs (and bond RRs). which, is far.

Update, GC is switching from suck to blow.

I don't think it is. I have one, but it's literally the only one I've ever seen in person and it had been hanging on the wall at GC for a very long time when I bought it. I don't use it as a true baritone, since I use normal string gauges and tune it to C#

That's where I tried the COW. When I was there last year, they had both a black one and a camo one, and I tried out the black one and was not impressed. Mike, I'd be curious to get your take on it, since you're the lucky bastard that gets to play a CS 7 everyday...

yeah. same here. it had a very cheap feel to me, where as the KBR, although suprisingly light, felt freakin sweet!

I tried a COW at the GC in Falls Church, and I thought it felt very solidly constructed. The fretboard and fretwork were great. I just didn't like the weird bolt-on joint, the single pickup, and the fact that the large headstock and light body make the balance a little off.
