What to expect with a Custom Order ?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering what to expect with a Custom Order these days?
I mean in terms of "case candy", documents and such things as COA, etc. And besides a killer guitar and case of course [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Each CS guitar comes with a Leather Binder, containing a picture, a certificate and a photo CD....

I think you may get a Fender cloth and polish kit.

The only 'case candy' you will get are:
-hang tag with the work order number on it
-warranty card
-generic allen wrench for the truss rod
-a key for the case

That's it. Anything else like a binder or additional swag is a myth.
I don't know why Jackson even mentions the binder. I don't think anyone has ever got one.
You'll be lucky just to get the guitar made correctly.

I just got one in January. Got case (G & G fitted), wrenches, tag, whammy bar, key for case and warranty card.

Thats it. No binder, T-shirt or anything.

Make sure you specify in detail what you want - don't just go by the Order Form.

Example: I wanted a neck exactly like the PC1. They forgot to put the metal bar on the headstock just after the nut - and the PC1 has one of those! Be very very specific on every little detail. Don't take anything for granted.

The guitar is just fantastic so that was no big deal. But don't leave any details out.

Specify where you want the volume and tone knobs located - everything!

Why would you even want one on that guitar? [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] The string retainer bar serves no purpose on a tilt-back headstock design. It's only needed on non-angled headstocks.

I just got my custom shop last week and was told that I would get a binder and photo cd. Nada!

I normally wouldn't care, but when you are told that you will be getting it and then it doesn't come, it's kinda takes the wind out of your sail.

It would be nice if they followed through on the binders. Either that or they should have never offered it.

The Limited Solar run had the Leather Binder/COA/Disk etc. with them, but didn't recieve them until about 3 months after the guitars were delivered.

I could very well be wrong tho.

That's not what I've been told, but I have been told that the binder / CD was only on orders placed after the start of 2005....

I was thinking about getting a custom shop made, myself. Good thing you mentioned to specify every detail... I wouldn't have thought JCS would be like that.
