I installed a Rhythm/Shred kit on one of my axes and so far I love it. Before that, it shredded ok, but I had to do a lot of tweaking of the knobs and truss rod to get a decent rhythm tone out of it. Now, I just flip the switch and whammo!....instant rhythm tone! It even automatically adjusts the volume! I've heard that if you turn the volume knob full clockwise and back three times, and click the switch from "off" to "shred" 4 times very quickly it'll automatically sense the neck tension, and adjust the truss rod accordingly with your string gauge. I'm still reading through the manual though.

Haha you're cruel guys come on, the man just asked a simple question! Anyway, I play mostly rhythm on my Kelly and it's superb. Don't even think twice when it comes to buying a Jackson, it'll be the best decision you ever made (man, I wonder if I could get paid for such a glowing endorsement?!)

I'll have to stop by the local GC and see if they can order one of these for me

I wonder if I should print the picture so they can see it . . . .

Kudos to the guys that can restrain themselves from doing mindless wanking on a Jackson! A Jackson guitar just begs to be played fast!

I used to be a rhythm-only player. If I played any leads, they were mostly slow and melodic ones. It was the purchase of a Jackson Rhoads that really got me started on technique...because...I felt like I HAD TO learn to play better, because otherwise I'd be sullying Randy's name! So, it was Jackson guitars and Randy that got me started on working on my chops.

yep...i play charvel jackson exclusively...but can only play solos on them...thats why we have to find another rhythm player...lmao...d.m.

in all seriousness...a guitar should be what feels right to you regardless of what is on the headstock...and you will be able to play whatever you wish upon it...

Think of it this way; soloing is generally harder than rhythm playing. That being said, if its comfortable to shred on, chances are it'll be a dream to play rhythm on.

the slsmg is nice for rythm work t.o.m. bridge nice wide board for big barre chords and straight string travel thru the nut to the tuners (like a prs) for not bad tuning stability without a double locking trem.
yeah it was me, you got a problem with that?

Re MM2002 Wow! I have just GOT to get me one of them there shred switches. I've bought loads of geetars by all sorts of makers, but ain't got one of them. Does it only do rhythm & shred, or will it cover all the other styles? If there's a bluegrass function in the manual, just let me know, boy! Autovibrato? Will it do alternate picking for me? I can't sweep for shit - will it make me like Yngwie? I'm sooooo excited................................My GF says, if you have a geetar in blue with one installed, that'll be ok with her.
