Ban Lurkers and non posters? What percentage of the forum even posts once per day, week, month? I try to get on every day or so just to make sure I don't miss something, but most of us are busy and may only be able to check out the forum on a limited basis. As for lurkers, what are they hurting? As long as they don't try to join and unload a bunch of stuff, (unless it's cool stuff! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]) they are doing what most people do on websites, learn more about a topic that they interested in. Let them lurk, they may blossom into the next big collectors. in the 5 years that this board has been around, i'm pretty sure this is the first time we've done it. i haven't really gone through much of this thread, but i really can't believe that people are somewhat wadded up about it. whatev.

i'll speak for the other jerkwads and say that member count isn't something that the administration gives a rusty rat's ass about. personally i liked it much better when the board was smaller. but that's just how i roll, yo.

Actually the 2nd... how many accounts are sitting in the registraton that are dead accounts now? It bothers me that everyone has an opinion of what sucks but little solution.. Yeah don't get me wrong I have a few suggestions and for every few of those I also have people going in the oppsote direction...

I've learned on this board no matter what is done there will be some for it, some against and some who don't give a fukk.. Fact is it is a god damned internet board and not my lifeblood. I do my best everyday to make sure it is run fair and impartial but by the nature of human beings we will always be opened up to ridicule as negativety will always spark a fire.

So an email went out that asked new members to post, is it so bad for us to be able to do a little house cleaning of the server or software? Is it so bad to encourage participation? Of all the negative posts here I simply ask, did it really ruin your day? Did it infringe on your rights? .. No .. just take it for what it is and please allow us to do our jobs without ridicule or praise....

Opinion noted and thanks for pointing out to us the reason for our policy here. No offense but you have all of 37 posts and your telling us WHY we have that policy. If you were here through the evolution of the JCF then you would understand how and why those policies were implemented without speculation. I ran 2 boards.. The JCF and Charvel Central and both boards went to closed memberships.. Charvel Central boasted all of 300+ members over a year or so.. so much for artificial inflation methods..

As a db guy, I kinda give a slightly tarnished field mouse's posterior about it. "Dead accounts" can be purged from the db thus reducing the size and increasing the speed, albeit minimally and somewhat unnoticably. It's not really a problem at this point in time, but a little preventative maintenance and housekeeping couldn't hurt. Know wut I'm sayin' yo?
