• Wish me luck!!(like nothing you've ever seen...)

Ok i know i was thinking about doin a red classic superstrat...but then i thought uknow what'd be cool doin a bengal strat like george lynch...then i thought actually i really want a star like Chris Holmes...i couldn't make up my mind...so then i thought why not breed the two together?

ladies and gentelmen...presenting...the M1 Tiger Star!

its basically the orignal config of chris holme's star wih a reverse strathead neck but with a vintage treem like george lynch's tiger originally had and a maple board like the tiger now has (i have a feeling holme's reverse strat eck would probably have had an ebony board or summin. I thought it would be really cool to do because I have never seen a star with a bengal finish so i thought I'd be doin something relatively unique...

I have the body and neck en route to me as we speak and will begin painting it in a few weeks time once I have all the parts together...i'll keep u guys posted once its finished...in fact shall i do a step by step guide for people to see how to paint guitars?

chris holmes' jackson stars didn't have inlays (unless there's one i haven't seen). don't they charge less if you opt for no inlays?

like i said its not totally based on holme's star and his original neck for the yellow star was a strat neck so it probably had inlays i'm guessing...

I'd have thought more notably it had an ebony board....

yeah the maple board is the lynch part...i like the feel of a maple board...and a lefty maple neck happened to be going on ebay reasonably cheap so i snapped it up...switch the nut round = reverse rightey

That's going to look the business. Where did you order the body from? I've been wanting a star since I sold me Ibanez DT350 years ago.

i literally got it off ebay ...KnE guitars..they seemed to have pretty postive reviews from all their customers so I thought I'd give it a try...you can order a star body from anywhere tho...USA custom guitars make good beodies i've heard, Warmoth do good ones too..they'll do it in any pickup config pretty much , whatever trem routing u want, front/rear loaded, vol pots etc...u pay slightly more i think for rear loaded..and obviously pricing will depend on the wood you choose...mine's alder...

Good luck with it. This is project I started but decided to go blood drip instead. This was a mockup of it.

Ooooh, I mocked up a star with Bengal finish like that, only with regular strathead and a gold Floyd. The specs have since changed a little, or maybe a lot, but it's still a Star. I've been wanting one for ages and some of you may know that I have a G&G Star case waiting for it, along with the gold Schaller Floyd I bought from here eons ago.

Not sure about the other makers, but Warmoth Stars aren't quite the same as Charvel Stars. They don't line up the same with the neck line or something. I looked into it as it would have been an easy way to go but it's been taken care of, as I really wanted it to be right. The Warmoth Star looks great too let me say, just different. Wayne Charvel has a Star listed as a body type you can get from him unfinished, ready for paint.
