You seem pretty upset by the fact that you don't have access. Why not spend some time in the other great forums here and before you know it, you'll reach 100. What's the big deal here? Is your sole purpose with registering here, to sell and buy?

Even worse, cuz that gives someone wanting to deal with the person a false sense of security. "Ok, they've got 101 posts and have been registered for 47 days, they must be legit".. When in reality, all they've done in those 47 days is post "nice guitar" or "rofl!" and wait patiently to get approved. I understand what you are trying to do, you want to protect people from the bad guys. Admirable, but impossible. All you are really doing is excluding honest people. The only difference in now and 88 posts from now is that people will know I'm opinionated and brash. They won't know my criminal record, nor will they know if I've scammed people on other message boards with different names. All they'll know is that the jcf admin thinks I'm trustworthy, cuz I've been approved for the classifieds section. Talk about a license to steal.

You're exaggerating. The 100+ rule is a tool that can help people make up their minds.

You describe us like some braindead monkeys that just sit there, staring at the post counter.

The more you post here in this thread, the more certain i am, that i won't see any good gear advices or stories from you in another forum here.

Not at all, I love Charvels and I came here to talk about them. But, I also love browsing ads and finding something I might not be aware of. A classifieds section is a great part of a board, and I feel hiding it from the newbies is pretty insulting to those newbies.

Well, that's your mistake to make. I already posted a really cool story when I first joined this board. I've owned Charvels and Jacksons since the late 80's and know a pretty fair amount about them. My opinions about the policies I feel are in need of change have no impact on what I can and cannot, or will and will not, contribute to a board. Of course, if an admin that can't take criticism feels that I need to be removed from the community for expressing my opinion on those policies, that's beyond my control.

It's simply because I don't live on this forum like other people do. I feel the policy is very elitist and it does nothing to encourage me to make this place a regular stop in my surfing, so it'll take a long time for me to get those 100 posts. There is a holier-than-thou vibe to the whole approval thing.. Besides, what makes you think a guy with 101 or 15,000 posts is any less shady than a guy visting only for the purpose of selling a guitar some dead relative left him? He might not give a rat's ass about being part of the community here, he just wants to put his item infront of a group of people that might appreciate it instead of blindly listing it on ebay and hoping someone stumbles upon it. I, as a Charvel fan, want to see that guitar and might even buy it. Excluding me based on that fact that I'm new here is highly insulting.
Thats not what this thread is about. This thread is about the changes that occurred in the classifieds section.
Why is there the 100 post and approval by the admins rule?
              Simple.
              Read your above post.
This isn't Ebay. If you want to sell, find another venue. The classifieds section needs to be protected from the non-active members who are only here to sell or buy things. Brokers, dealers... included. This classifieds section is strictly the honor system and frankly, I feel more comfortable buying, selling or trading with a member I have spoken too via the board a few hundred times.
Being a part of the JCF classifieds section is an honor and a privilege. You need to earn it. Be an active member. Prove yourself to be a responsible member. Learn from the wealth of knowledge that is on the JCF. Make friends with the many fine people on this board. Most of all... have fun with it.
Thats how you get granted full access. Thats how we all did.
The JCF is a brotherhood. The members here are all my bro's and many of them are now my personal friends.
              Thats it in a nutshell.

Sorry, I don't go in for all that touchy-feely crap. I post on a message board to gain knowledge, share knowledge and maybe make some business deals. I'm hardly ever a seller, I think I've sold one guitar over the web in the last 5 years, but I buy stuff frequently. If I make a friend, and I have made some through message boards, that's cool. If not, I'm not going to cry over it. I guess you guys just have a different thought process about buying and selling than I do. As a seller, I care only about who has the funds to buy my item. As a buyer, I care about finding the right item at the right price. Feedback is a valuable tool of course, I'm not saying do away with the idea of user accountability. But don't exclude someone for the fact that they've not sat around shooting the bull enough to meet some draconian policy that does little to truly evaluate a member's worth.

Ravencad ..The policy has been there long before you came here and isn't going to change because you don't like it. I think it is a shame that you as a brand new member come in a rip us instead of ejoying the board for what it is ...
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

Already there, great forum. G.com usta be cool too, then the new owner decided to ban for-sale posts in the hopes that we'd use them for our gear needs... Of course, they also banned the people making the now banned for-sale posts, which kind of hurt their membership lol That went over like the proverbial turd in a punchbowl... I think I'm still a member there, but I've not been back in a long time. Ohwell, this conversation is going no where. Have a nice day fellas =)

It's clear that this guy came here solely to buy and sell. Kevin, give him his DD214 and send him packing.

Well, assuming you are correct (which you aren't, I just don't put my stock into making "internet buddies", but just for the sake of argument...), where is the harm in that? Maybe I do want to buy more Charvels. What BETTER place to find Charvels than a classified section on a Charvel forum? I have no idea what a DD214 is, but I assume you are suggesting I be banned for having a conflicting opinion about the rules here.. If that's the case, and that kind of thing actually goes on here, I'll just save you the trouble and delete the shortcut..

WOW, off to a good start. I know this isn't your 1st post, but this is the 1st time I am aware of you, and to be honest your kinda coming off as an ASS. Every now and then some new member pulls this. Look we all had to go through it, it's no big deal. I may be wrong but I thought you had to be a contribtuing member to get access to the classifieds, when I got to over 100 post I had to pm an admin and I'm sure they looked at my post. If I had 100 "cool guitar" or other 1 word post, I'm sure they wouldn't consider me an active member. What your not picking up on is that the 100 post things requires you to become a member that contributes, when that happens people are way more likely to deal with you. On the flip side it always can help when things don't go so good. On more than a few occasions members here have stepped in to help "mediate" between members who aren't seeing eye to eye. Be it actually going over to someones house to check up on things or a phone call. Hence a sense of community.

Oh and if I remember back from my High School ROTC days, a DD214 is your discharge papers from the military.
Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you yunick jelly thou!
