I have no idea what a DD214 is, but I assume you are suggesting I be banned for having a conflicting opinion about the rules here.. If that's the case, and that kind of thing actually goes on here, I'll just save you the trouble and delete the shortcut..
Admitting your problem is the 1st step towards recovery. I suggest you ban yourself.
If you want to buy more Charvels I suggest you contact the many Charvel dealers online. Ebay is a great source for Charvel too.
The JCF sucks. Trust me.. you won't like it here. The active contributing members here are all buddies and alot of us are VERY touchy---feely.
    Its almost sickening.

Raven... I see your point, but just like every other forum out there, this one has rules.
Like 'em or not, they are what they are. They're not gonna change.
So chill out, hang out and shoot the shit for a few.
You'll get access to the classified section soon enough.
Nothing wrong with being opinionated either... makes for interesting conversation.
I don't think you need to be axed, just acknowledge and move on.

Here's the elitist part that bothers him ..

Why should guys who have been here for 5 yrs compete with him for gear in the classifeds because he doesn't want to be a contributing member ...

Whatever ..it is what it is..
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

Well we certainly shouldn't let him in on the fact that once you hit 200 posts, you get special deals directly from C/J like 80% off custom shop orders. Let's try not to advertise that one.

Actually, it was those guys that have been here 5 years, the ones with the knowledge to know if something is real or bogus, that I want to do business with. Buying a Charvel from someone that loves them, collects them and knows about them is a LOT better than buying blindly off Ebay and hoping it isn't a Charvel neck on a plywood body that someone rigged up. I'm not much competition for a collector. I like the ones most people here frown on anyway, the toothpaste models. Real collectors want the old school ones. I might eventually buy one of the old ones, but not right now.

The way to do that is to get involved in threads. read, ask questions .. basically participate. Your asking for someone to teach you what they learned without the sweat equity ...

The JCForum is NOT here for your convienence, for you to sell or buy, or to be a marketplace for the general Charvel Jackson crowd. The Classifieds are here for a place for REGULAR MEMBERS to buy and sell gear between themselves, NOT for open commerce to dealers, non-regulars/noobs just wishing to flip gear.

If you don't like this, tough shit. Over the years there have been a couple of deals that have gone sour, but due to the restrictions on the Classifieds during this time, these have been kept to a minimum. This is a community for friends, aquaintences and like minded people to share their experiences, guitars, techniques, and general issues regarding Jackson and Charvel guitars and is NOT intended to be the Jackson Charvel Craig's List.

We're lucky there is even a Classifieds forum at all. There have been numerous occassions where the existence of that forum has been in Jeopardy and I'm at times I'm surprised that it has even remained.

Anyways, you can complain as much as you want about the new forum permissions, but that's not going to change them. If the lack of banter in the classifieds keeps you from coming here, I think that's a good thing.

I like the friendly atmosphere of this place, it's not here just for information and buying and selling. I've had the pleasure of talking to and meeting a few of ya here and it's cool to shoot the shit with someone you've been talking with for years on the forum. That being said, the classifieds rules are great, and as already mentioned, there have been very little issues with transactions because we all get to know each other and we've helped each other out in the past with deals by calling the guys we know, or paying a visit to people that are close to us when someone looks like they aren't keeping up their end of the bargin.

I do kinda miss the info the members used to input with the replies in the classifieds, but if we feel we get a comment via PM that would be good info for everyone on the board, we should take it upon ourselves to post it, which also keeps us contributing to the boards, even in the classifieds. I mean don't post when someone PM's ya "kickass guitar", we already know it is, but if ya got something useful that people would like to know, hell, post it for the hell of it for all to see.

I was thinking of a work-around to discuss a listing in an open forum and there really is no way. If you talk about a listing for an amp in the amp section it would allow all the members who don't have classifieds access to now PM or email the seller. It would be as good as having access under the current restrictions. It would be almost impossible to keep the sellers screen name private.
So... a word to the wise.... DON'T DO IT.

I second what VinceV said. If you really like J/C guitars, it will take no-time before you hit the very reasonable rules for classified access.

Still think it's BS? Start a new thread pole explaining you point of view, and let's take a vote.

                              Classified Access:

                              1. 100 post count sucks!
                              2. 100 post count rules!
                              3. RaVenCAD is an ass (j/k LOL!)

Those are exactly the guys who won't want to do business with YOU until they have an idea of what you're like - hence the 100-post, 45-day and reviewed-by-admin before getting access process. Your complaints about having to wait awhile sound alarms to those of us who are regulars here and thus know each other. Your sense of haste is off-putting to a board that's pretty tight-knit.

If you quit griping, participate and make yourself known here, you will benefit from it. You're not gonna bum-rush us arguing about this. If it really bugs you that much, then yeah, best for you and us if you move on. But you don't have to, in fact you're welcome here if you drop the 'tude.
