I too love the Jackson headstock, but IMO, I don't like it on reverse headstock guitars. I think on the reverse headstock guitars it juts up too much. I like ESP and Ibanez reverse headstocks. I think I like their reverse headstocks better because they are inline with the neck. I'm not sure if my description is clear or not, but either way, looks are subjective and these are just my opinions.
I like the old Kramer reverse explorer type headstock as well as all Charvels/Jacksons. For a headstock that looks good on any body style I would have to say the current Ibanez headstock either standard or reverse.
I had these made for me - I also asked that the strings stay in line for better intonation.
(strings are straight in-line from the trem through the nut to the tuners)
I do like the Strat heads and the Bannana heads also, but the above are my favorites.
My belief - Keeping the strings as straight a possible - again just my belief and me tring to prove it is a whole new thread.....or book... but my favorite shapes - tele and harpoon
Think it'd stay better in tune without the "ding" on the two lightest strings?
I know Eric Johnson removed his on his strats, does it really affect the sound that much?

Jackson pointy headstock = modern rock guitar.
For a really outdated and ugly 80s headstock check out the ESP kamikaze-banana-thing that George Lynch plays.
I just think that some people try to make statements in an attempt to sound intelligent but ultimately end up looking retartde. I remember earlier on in the year my band had a gig with some random 'run-of-the-mill' metal band and their guitarist was bitchin' to me that I aught to get my head out of the 80's and ditch the Jackson (I was playing my RR3 by the way). He said that he never really 'got' Jackson's, hated the Rhoads models in particular and never really liked the whole 'pointy' headstock thing yet the stupid moron was only playing a BC Rich Warlock with that daft 'tribal' graphic on it (a guitar that's headstock is also pointy in its own way).
Anyway, the moral of this story is that I happened to have the misfortune of seeing the same band play again about two weeks ago and the same idiotic guitarist (who's also the singer) was now weilding a Metallic Black Jackson Strat (pointy headstock an all). I went over to him afterwards to gloat and he denied ever saying anything (claiming that I must've been on crack... prat!).
The reality of all this is that many people do (and will continue) to bad mouth the awesome Jackson brand......... but few people feel the same way after actually picking one up and finding out how awesome it feels and plays for themselves!
