This is a project I've wanted to do for a long time, and now I'm finally going for it! Denny (Slashware) is building the body, and I've ordered a neck from Warmoth. The scheme is a flame maple top Dinky body, neck, and fretboard, no inlays, direct mount EMG (no trim ring), and floyd. I'm going to do the body and neck (including fretboard) in a matching trans finish, and I've got it narrowed down to 4 basic colors. I did these mock-ups just for a visual idea, but mine will have a reversed headstock, no binding, and no inlayed logo. What do you all think as far as color???

For sure the black stain brings out the grain nicely, but to my eyes it dulls the "brightness" of the colors a bit. Funny several people already said green! That was actually what I was leaning toward before I started this thread. I was at the paint store yesterday and looked at some transparent neon greens, man they're sick looking! Of course the other colors are nice too, especially the blue. Whichever color I go with, it'll definitely be a trans neon.
I've considered leaving the fretboard natural too.......just don't know.My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

The colored fretboard would be unique. But pretty? I can't decide. I think you'd have to see it in real life to decide.
If you go for green i'll pull all my posts from this thread
Edit: Are you going for a painted neck (back)?

As a wall hanging, I think the yellow would look cool. As a working guitar, that I have to actually play, I hate painted fretboards. For a "once a show, just for the extended solo" kinda thing, it might be ok. But not as a workhorse. Hey, since you are doing something crazy anyway, why not some color matched sharktooth inlays?
