just to further complicate matters, there's also black pearl, which is sorta in between black and metallica black (it uses much smaller flakes) on my black pearl SL1 you can't really see the flakes at all, it just sorta makes the black vaguely.. pearl-y I guess. It's even more subtle than the metallic black, and harder to notice unless you have it side by side with plain black.
