  • Happy 20th Birthday to...

...my first J/C. Custom-ordered SD Soloist Student, ebony board, OFR, etc. Not sure of the exact day, but she was completed sometime during April '86. She's been with me from day one.

No - it's one of the Bill Edwards Finger-tite lock nuts that was a direct replacement for Floyd nuts back then. I love it - works just as well, and no wrenches to use. Wish they still made them. ...And, yes, I still have the original locknut.

They do still make them. I bought one not long ago when I was trying to restore and old axe of mine that had one on there. They are cool, but a little bulky.

I think Kahler has them now. Not 100% on that though.

Nah, the Kahlers suck compared to the Edwards version. And it's not behind the nut.

Any chance of a sharp close up of that lock nut?

Are you the winner of oldest original Jackson here?

Hey yea, that's the "Fretboard Logic" guy with the nut. Nice guitar. It must be nice to have it for 20 years! I guess it's a keeper!
