Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

Haven't met him, but I've talked to and met a few JCF guys here. We have some very cool people on this board. We need an annual meeting of some sort...

Wow Kev, I was going to post something along these lines at some point but ya beat me to it.

Kev came over to my house on Saturday and brought his lovely wife Diane. We hung out for a couple of hours, (after talking on the phone with him for 2 hours a couple of nights before).
He brought over one of his stratheads. Actually he said it was his #1 axe. He let me noodle on it for a few minutes and i gotta be honest....i have never played a strathead before and man....
Thanks so much Kev for bringing it over.

ALSO, he brought over #1 Reverse Dweezil and she decided to stay. I have to say, after he left i played it for about 3 hours and i can honestly say i had an epiphony (sp?).....
this guitar is it for me. No ifs ands or butts. I have a renewed interest in my playing and i am going to be thinnning the herd because after playing it for the weekend, There is no way i can justify 30+ guitars. They just won't get played anymore.

So in conclusion, thanks Kev for the life altering axe. I mean that
Look Up...Get Up...And Never EVER Give Up...

Ya know it sucks, I was 100% sure I was going, but with my new job I'm on probation for 3 months, so I don't think they'll let me go. It's related to the job in a small small way, so hopefully they'll let me off the leash for a few days.

Can always meet at Matt's. As the board sponsor I'm sure he'd be willing to host us all!!

On some other boards, they have arranged factory tours, choice wood picking parties for custom orders with favorite dealers in tow with a group rate, 2 night stay at a Ramada style inn.

The first night was a get acqauinted, show your number one guitar in your room and have a friendly dinner and drinks night at the hotel. The second day has a morning factory tour, with custom order write ups, ending with a jam session in the early evening with a hired gun on drums.

I have 'met' many, really great people through this board that share the same passion. Unfortunately, there is a bit of water between myself and Ca.

Yah, what ever happened with that? Did talks fall through or just get thrown on the backburner? Hell, I'll say it, the DOA meetings are kickass, sponsers play some great music, great food, good drinkin and a good time for all. I was suppose to go again, but my friend had a baby and I was helping him run the store.
