need help please!!

My friend came over to see my new guitar and like a dumbass broke my big E string, i went out and got spare and now i cant get it to slide in the trem. i have a jt6 and i loosened the fine tuner as loose as it will possibly go. will size 46 E strings not fit or something? ive been trying to over an hour now. sorry i didnt post this in tech but i just got this axe today and im really wantin to get goin again so i thought id post here. any tips? thanks

I have one guitar where the blocks are sort-a 'frozen' in place and I have to take a screw driver to force them back (away from the pickups).

(I know, I know... I need new saddles and blocks.)

function of taking the thing apart and
cleaning/oiling the parts. However, if they're too loose the blocks fall out and you lose 'em! Danged if ye do, danged if ye don't...

Did you loosen the locking screw INSIDE the fine tuner???
