  • Sorry, pic request...

I hate these posts because most times people just don't bother looking, but I need some help. Yes, I have looked through the archives and gallery, but I'm hoping someone has a pic on their hard drive I haven't seen. I need some pictures of snakeskin finishes, in as many colors and patterns you can post. I have seen the reds, greens, copperheads, the normal ones, but I'm looking for more of a brown color (that guitar Darrell had custom made for him by the Washburn guys on the Vulgar Videos, 3rd one I think) I know on monday if I get this new job, and by monday or tuesday night I hope to have my very first custom order in to a dealer. I just want something to give the CS guys to reference and something to give me a better idea of where to go with hardware color and the rest. Post anything ya got, hopefully I'll find something I haven't seen. Thanks!

    You've probably seen this but:

Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

You won't believe it, but I'm working on almost the same thing No worries, I think I'm going with green or copperhead right now though. How do you get the snakeskin so clean looking? I'm using these pictures to throw over the guitar on the generator and it's looking like crap

This one will be blue metallic. Like a copperhead but blue.

                      I started with this image.

I brought it into Photoshop and changed the hue to blue. Once loaded into the generator I sized it down a bit.

Can't wait to see the finished product. Do you have an idea of the arrival/finish date?

Out of curiosity, how does one do a snakeskin graphic?

Uh yeah, don't read mine then!

I was told 12 months, that was about 3 months ago maybe. I'll believe it when I see it. Although I'll be asking about it at the Custom Shop clinic in June. You know, to see if were still on track.

I believe they use fishnet over the body to get the various patterns as they airbrush it.

                              Thanks Toejam.
