I nearly missed this last update! It looks stunning, RobRR! You are very talented. There's plenty of room left in this thread for more pics!

Logo installed and final clear coating!
Once this is done, Ill reinstall the fretboard binding, install all the hardware, and on the guitar it will go!
This is coming out great, Im really happy so far... I might just have to do it again, and again, and again...
Also a big thanks goes out to Alvin @ www.best-decals.com for working with me... they and I werent aware that reverse headstocks have different size logos... but they are now, and will be available to the public shortly!Last edited by RobRR; 06-06-2006, 08:06 PM.Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Actually that is the new correct size logo... exactly the same size as normal reverse headstocks. I think whats making it look larger than it is, is the binding not being painted at all. Usually Jackson paints over the binding, so its really not at all visible if your looking dead on at the headstock. Mine isnt painted at all.Last edited by RobRR; 06-07-2006, 04:00 PM.Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...

Neither... I used a transparent black, and transparent blue enamel spray paint. Two light coats of the black as a base, then lightly sanded to bring out the grain a bit mroe. Then hit it with the blue until I got the color I wanted, then wetsanded. Two coats of clear, wetsand again, install decal, and 4-5 more coats of clear. Im going to wetsand one more time to level out the height difference from the decal as best I can, then add another 2 coats of clear.
I know this isnt exactly the "right" way to do it, but beings it was a first time project, it was what was readily available and Ill be damned if it isnt almost a dead match!Last edited by RobRR; 06-07-2006, 05:43 PM.Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to...
