  • Heard the new Sepultura?

If you, like me, gave up on this band after Max left then you MUST check out Dante XXI. Trust me, they are back and the shit is killer. Eerie interludes, killer drum grooves, ripping guitars w/ solos(!). It's all there. I don't get too worked up about many albums but this one is a new classic.

The album is a concept album about Dante's Inferno except it's not your regular prog style concept album. If you just had the CD you might not even know.

    Check it!

Also, www.andreaskisser.com has a picture of his old stickered Model 2. It's in slightly better shape than the Dean From Hell.

i have to admit that they did kinda suck after max left (and im a HUGE sep fan) but i still bought all their albums out of loyallty, but it was obvious there was a HUGE songwriting void with max no longer there.

I'll have to buy the new one then as it sounds like u think they may have found their mojo again!!

We actually were listening to it in the lab. I thought that Sepultura was really starting to suck. Especially during the Roots period. But, this album is badass.

Dark Ages by Soulfly is the newest Sepultura album.

However, having said that, I'll check out the new one, but I'm not expecting much. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

It was Roots, not Max's departure, that killed my interest in Sepultura. I bought the new album last week in the hopes that it would be good, as I've read only negative reviews of the past few and never heard any of the Green-era material.

Dante is impressive. Not quite on par with Chaos A.D., but certainly worth the purchase price.

Get Dark Ages by Soulfly. Trust me on this one. Roots killed it for me too, but Dark Ages really seems like a natural progression from Chaos AD IMHO.

Holy crap, that video was truly disturbing!! The music was ok, but was kinda thin sounding. This coming from a Slayer fan Jack.

Hell yeah! that is metal Disturbing as all hell. Thanks for posting that. I think it sounded good considering that the audio side of the compression was stepped on to all hell.

That video sucked..no not really, it bothered me..so yep it sucked. I was fine with the humans being fucked with, not the animals. Roots was on a downhill slide, but I still thought it rocked. Chaos AD is my fav by far.
