  • Grover Jackson Guitars

I have a Grover Jackson Kelley and I am curious if anyone knows where it might have been manufactured? It is neck thru/ string thru construction and it has mother of pearl sharkfin inlays. the headstock is also in mother of pearl. i heard that some of these are made in Japan. I have played a custom shop kelly and this one is identical in tone and feel. It is definately a custom guitar but the serial numbers dont match up with the Jackson website. It has a natural finish stripe down the middle with transparent green in the sides and back (ala B.C. Rich mockingbird style) also the serial numbers are in the traditional Jackson place on the fretboard. i would appreciate some help with this and can e-mail pictures. thanks.

Made in Japan for the Japan market. Lurk around and you can find out all about these...like, in Import Jackson forum.

^ What he said. The Grover Jackson label is now discontinued though, in favor for "Jackson Stars".

Also, rfazano, an unofficial rule when describing a cool C/J is to post pics of it (start a thread in Jackson Imports).

And don't freakin' ask how to do that!

Had I known it was in fact an import, that is where I would have started. And do you have a copy of that unofficial rulebook?
I'll start a thread there (imports) and post some picks because I really would like to know what year and such, thanks for the info.
