My blue 3-tite Charvel w/Jackson logo is dated January 1986!!IIRC,the imports first appeared in later 86'!!

That wasn't what I said in my post.. I stated that I beleive they started licensing in 85 and there was an over lap in 86. I vividly remember going into Daddies and seeing new USA'a along side Import series .. it was done in a manner as to not interupt the flow of sales

My point is afaik there were no imports available for sale till 1986,do you recall correctly the year you saw both USAs & imports for sale??

Clarification that you're both right. :lol Imports "started" - plans, designs, possibly production - in '85. Maybe even earlier. And US "sales" likely started in '86.

Well I thought thats what I was saying .. when i say licensed that doesn't imply they were being delivered to usa stores ..I'm sure production srated months ahead of time

The info discussed at the clinic is the same info I was given when visiting FMIC headquarters last year. Very interesting stuff.

The new england Jackson/Charvel rep and I are putting together a plan to bring a clinic like this one to my shop in the fall. I'll lay out the details as soon as they start to come together.

Thanks for the recap. The clinic was a lot of fun and very successful. I enjoyed meeting you and the other Jackson/Charvel fans who attended.

Fuller's is very interested in making this an annual event at their store. Getting Tim, Mike Shannon, Mike Kotzen, and myself all scheduled to be in one place at one time is a difficult thing, so the idea of a annual event is very appealing. Fuller's made the event successful by having 75+ CUSTOM SHOP pieces in stock at the time of the clinic. All of us that gave the clinic are very happy with the support and efforts by Mike Fuller to create a true Jackson/Charvel destination! If you want to check out some serious Jackson and Charvel product, you need to visit Fuller's. His sales staff is knowlegable and they have plenty of variety to choose from.

BTW...for those of you still wondering, I stubbed my big toe tapping it to the music of Mike's bluegrass band the night before the clinic. Unfortunately, due to this injury, I could not perform my interpretive dance, "Too Much Metal for One Hand". Maybe next time!!! LOL
