Re: Here\'s another scam to watch out for.
These scams are the funniest. Some people amazingly do fall for them. They only want whatever money and gifts they can scam out of you, but apparently, once you go in for a penny, you are in for a pound as you keep funding their lies to finally get that big $$ reward they swear is getting closer and closer, so you send more to try and recoup what you've already lost. A very rich and powerful NZ business man fell for it, and actually used friendships and business ties to get more money from people he knew, who trusted him. He didn't mention Nigera, just told them he knew of a way to double their money.
Do a search on Advance Fee Fraud and Nigeria. A lot will come up. There are whole sites dedicated to 'scamming' the scammers. You reply to their letters and get them to waste their time and money trying to get stuff out of you. This goes as far as pretending you'll meet them in Amsterdam and watching the Scammer on a web cam from home as he waits for you. Another guy replies as David Lee Roth and send a pic of Dave to the Scammers. He loves to get them to send a pic with them holding a sign with his name. It's a big industry apparently. The advent of desktop publishing means their documentation can look pretty slick these days.
