Don is referring to the Fusion Pro and he's correct. It is Basswood. The Fusion pro is the model closest (read practically identical) to the USA Fusion. The Pro is just that, a Professional level instrument of very high quality with only a few minor differences between it and the USA Fusion. They are great guitars and can be had for around half the price of a USA version.
Before I bought mine, I recollect doing a lot of searching through the old catalogs and I remember them being specified as basswood for the USA models. One thing the USA has over the Professional? Two words - Bikini Beach.

No idea. the website jacksonmuseum used to have all the catlogs, and I looked in there. Its definately a light wood, and it sounds like basswood to me, and judging by the way the strap holder screws pull out, its acting like basswood, too.
I wonder why only some and not all the pros got MOP logos.I have a 92 fusion H-H and it has the bound neck offset MOP dots standard logo.It would look so much better with a MOP logo.

Because only the MOP logoes were the really great Pro models. That's the time frame cut off, when they went to a scripted Jackson logo without pearl, they also lost a lot of the other quality features such as: ebony necks, binding on headstock and neck, Schaller JT-590, active Jackson electronics and pickups, etc...
