  • Hello from a new member

Hi everyone, I just recently registered and have been lurking around here for a little while. I have learned many new things from you all and I now want to say hi, and show you what I've got.

My name is John, I live on Long Island in New York and have played guitar for too many years (about 30!) and have still not gotten any better!!! I am just an avid fan of the guitar, the sound and looks of them. I play mostly in my basement where I don't bother anybody. I currently have 12 guitars, mostly cheapies, you know, Epi's, Agiles etc. I do have my pride and joy, a 1978 Gibson Les Paul I bought new back in '78. I also have a Charvel Model 2 in Electric Blue which thanks to you all on this forum, I narrowed down to a 1988 model. I recently got it on eBay and have fallen for these old Charvels. (Now I need more of them!!) I also have a Jackson, what I call a model PS-2/4. It is a PS4 body with a non-reverse PS2 neck. I totally bought ALL of the pieces for this guitar on eBay and put the whole thing together myself. Went pretty well, it screams with the Duncan p/u's in it. Thanks for all the info I have gotten here so far and talk to you all soon.

    See ya in the forums!

Hi John, welcome to the JCF. Good to see you posting after lurking a few months, thats part of the fun, enjoy! I have a PS4 in the same color as yours, and have thought about a standard headstock on it as well, maybe a DK2.

Welcome, John. I've been playing for about 20 years and still haven't gotten much better either!

I think he might have looked very quickly or the monitor resolution is bad, the "r n" close together "rn" could look like an "m." Anyway, thanks for all the welcomes everyone. BTW toejam, that star in your bottom link is great! uh.oh....GAS attack?????

            thanks again!

Thanks. I bought that Star about two months ago from Matt's Music. It's a very comfortable and fun shape to play. My GAS has subsided... for now!
