As for the truss rod, the USA Roswells had the Hex Nut-style and came with a ball end Allen wrench (which was also the same size as my Takamine acoustic, coincidentally).

My JacksonStars NASLs both use the "Corncob Pipe" style wrench, as do all my other Jacksons. The silly thing is, all the nuts that take the "Pipe-type" wrench are brass. Brass is almost as soft as 24K Gold, one of the softest metals found on Earth. Why anyone still thinks it's a good idea to use it for anything other than decoration or for any item that cannot be finger-tightened is beyond me.

Likely so you'll strip the nut before the rod. A nut can be replaced with little effort, the rod... not so easy.

Plus if they used a steel nut, there's a chance of it rusting to the truss rod, again rendering it useless.

Seriously, there are many types of brass and they could definitely use a harder type of brass than what they're using.

My 2002 SL2-GX had a 3/16 allen and came with the wrench.

I thought all J/Cs came with the 7 mm brass bolt. Never seen the 3/16" socket before.

seems there was something inside the truss head, after nelli's last post i thought fuck it and was a bit more forcefull and gave the hex key and damn good push and i felt something give, then it locked in place and it worked!!!!!

(Not so) Funny enough, the hex key that came with my CS doesn't fit either. It fits my regular production Jacksons, but not CS one. And the truss rod nut looks exactly the same as on pics above.

So what is the key size that fits actually? I gonna buy a set of Imperial hex keys but I'm not so keen to try many of them.

It is extremely difficult to get imperial hex keys in Moscow, but I did some calculations and found that 5/32" = 3.96mm. I thought that average key/nut size tolerance gonna be much bigger than 0.04mm and... I was right! 4mm key fitted perfectly!
