I've tried other pups in my RR1 (JB's and a Golden Age from Stew Mac) but they just didn't have the same tonal qualities as the XL500. I thought it was kinda cool that the XL500's came stock on my '93 Rhoads. Anyways...
    Congratulations Annah ^^

Btw, i've a lil question for you, about the pu. Speaking of the bill lawrence, did you mean the bill lawrence USA or the "bill and becky" lawrence ? Just to know if the USA ones are at least as good as the other ones.
    Thanks

Well, that's an interesting question, and after poking around the 'net I see why some are referring to it as an L-500XL. The ones in my Rhoads are originals from '93 that came in the guitar, so I'm thinking they're actual Bill & Becky XL500s (ironically, my aunt and uncle's names are Bill and Becky). The first XL500 I got was, from what I recall, actually from Bill Lawrence himself. But after reading all about that, I have to wonder. Either way, the things just rip and I like them a lot. I would prefer to have actual B & B's, but... well, hell... who knows! I do know that my old XL500 sounds VERY trebly in my Strat, but that's probably because of the volume pot being a diff. ohmage than the one in my Rhoads.

Damn, so many aspects to getting the tone ya want!

I must say, after playing my first gig (Saturday) with my JCM2000 with all-new tubes (Groove Tube EL34's and JJ/Tesla ECC803s) plus a new BBE 362, holy freakin crap, my rig sounds MONSTROUS now! I'm very happy with the tone. Now I just need to pick up a 300w 1960B for the Wall o' Metal.

Hey Annah try a pot upgrade kit from rsguitarworks.net if you really want to open that RR up.A lot of big names use their kits I've sworn by them for years.Go check out their site.

Straycat, are you getting any percentages of sales from those guys or are you an employee? I see your promo's all over the place Just kidding , but I do see you recommending them. I heard they have some good stuff, but they must be too busy to return emails as I had some questions about some products awhile back.

No cuts I just want everyone to get the most out of their guitars. The kits are simply the easiest and cheapest way to improve your tone.I used to tech there so I know first hand how great these kits are.All the pots are CTS matched and sorted into groups acording to out put(K).
The caps are made by Hovland to rs specs and are exclusivly for guitar.
I jammed with sme guys last Sat and smoked the 3 guitar players there with my model 2 bullseye the tone was huge. The guy with the L.P.put his guitar back in the case and said that Charvel was too much for him.He asked what I had done to it to get such great tone so I told him.
