Was running across some old pics and I found these.
Even when I was starting out in 1988 I knew what kind of guitar I wanted when I grew up. Thought it might be good for a laugh to share:

My first electric guitar. It was a Celebrity by Ovation. Can't remember what kind of amp it was except it was total crap with no effects.
Kneel before the power of my Commodore 64!!!!!
Here's another one of my first bass and bass rig. It was a Memphis short scale bass.

Oh yeah! Feel the pain! Original Crate bass amp there and a Peavey 215 cab that had been cut in half. A friend of my dad's sold me that cab for $25. Of all the things, I still have that cab.
Then I traded in the Memphis for a Peavey Fury. Boy was I big time then.

All the essentials on the wall. Vernon Reid, Vito Bratta, Phil Collen. Def Leppard shirt.
Vive le 80s!!!
Seeing these pics made me remember what it was about Jacksons that I liked the first time I saw one. I remember a local music store carried Jacksons. They had one with the "solar system" paitn job and I was in love at first sight. I knew that one day I would have to own one of these guitars. It' been many years since then but I still get that feeling of excitement whenever I pick up my Jackson.
But I still don't have the desire to cuff my jeans or wear my hat so high on my head. What was I thinking???
Anyways, enjoy.
