  • Video of a couple of my Jackson/Charvels!

    Hey all,

My band Exit Wounds recorded a music video for a song off our upcoming EP. As avid Jackson/Charvel users we tried to get as much exposure in as possible, so check it out and hopefully you like it!

Video Clip for the song "Myself The Martyr" off our EP "Return Fire".

Ha, not into Hardcore but I must say that was professionally done!
You guys rocked out frantically...in fact, so much so, a neck pickup exited the scene!

The ending gave me shivers, too! (Well, I just got out of the shower)

      dude! Nicely done.

Have you pitched it to MTV Australia? They occasionally play Aussie bands on Headbangers Ball. And your clip looks a hell of a lot better than a lot of the shot-for-50-bucks-in-a-dodgy-club-with-rentacrowd vids I've seen on there.
      Hail yesterday

        Very nice!
The music is not my taste, but the guitars sure are! Love the 750XL and the King V.
I also liked the solo part with the harmonies.

You guys really should try to get that clip on air.

Solos kicked ass.Good musically. I couldn't understand any of the vocals.Whats the point of telling a story if you no one can understand whats being said?I never understood the whole cookie monster vocal thing.Song is great tho.
Do a version where you can understand the lyrics that might be better.Just a thought.

wow thats a great song dude. love the vocals, they really fit in with the sound of the band. the solo was awsome and the harmonies sounded great. you guys should try and get that on the TV. its easily as good as the stuff being showed at the minute, if not better.

Cool vid, cool playing...and I feel all warm and cushy from the sweet, melodic vocals

Seriously, get a real vocalist and you guys have potential.

Kick ass! Killer tune and a pretty cool vid! Not to beat a dead horse, but I listen to a few bands that use the "cookie monster" vocals and I still couldn't make out much of what he was singing/screaming.

Playing wise and performance wise though, that was some killer sh!t!

I'm gonna +1 on what was said about the vocals.

At the same time, I also understand that if I'm having trouble understanding the vocals, it just means that the music wasn't intended for me. I think I'm reaching that age where there are bands coming up after me that I just don't get. But that happens so I'm cool with it.

Now for the parts that I did like.

I have to start with the production quality because it was otustanding. I don't know who did this or what they used to do it but it was top notch. The only reason I'm dwelling on this was that I was expecting a crude, home video feel. Boy was I wrong.

Now to the best part, that being the music. That was a great song. The solo was really really good. Flashy, but not a shred fest. I am a big fan of harmony soloing when done tastefully and this one hit the spot.

Congrats on a job well done!!

As a side note, you know what would have been a fun ending? If the girl who "shot" him had been his girlfriend in real life and just showed up to take him shopping or something like that.

Or maybe she was his fiancee and it was his wedding day. And the guy who caught him was his best man or the father of the bride.

Of course I might just be a little loopy right now too. Too much time on the computer doind work can do that to you...

                        Awesome stuff!

The video was done VERY well, Big respect to you on that! Sweet axes too.

My best friend's in a Hardcore / Metalcore band (Poison My Blood) and they've got a good chance at being signed, they're recording an album in november and I'll probably go hang out in the studio with them and try and lay down a couple of guitartracks or riffs on it. He's all for it, but the other guitarist doesn't seem to like me, I always want to play some more technical stuff and riffage, not to his liking. I guess it's the progsnob in me surfacing.

Cheers for all the support and encouraging comments they're truely appreciated. Plus its always good to have the Jackson fanatics behind ya, especially after playing the guitars religiously for the past 5 years.

We're currently getting the video transferred to Beta SP tapes for possible airplay on a few Australian music programs (MTV Australia is in the list), so provided our EP does alright when it goes on sale this Monday we might get a bit of publicity over here! Maybe enough for a Jackson endorsement over here in Australia

well..you know how sound transfers through someone elses system sometimes.. I had to tune out and turn down a bit during the verses.. good aggression on the vocals.. but that was about all I heard..something about the pounding snare into a quick fill struck me as rather annoying too...maybe it was the snare tone. The guitar solo however, was very well done (great playing actually,... really kicked ass) and song structure during the solo section was good. In retrospect..I watched it again and....kinda like one does with a porno.. I fast forwarded to solo.. it ripped.
