I've been reading these boards for a while, posting every so often (I think I'm up to 10), but I somehow missed the introduction tradition. So here is my introduction.
My name is Scott, I've been playing guitar for 9 years. I started out on a Yamaha 120SD (tele with humbuckers), moved up to a 94-ish Jackson King V Pro, liked it but it was sacrificed in a repainting adventure gone bad. Bought an Ibanez S470, loved it, but the neck went twisty on me. From there I finally landed on current guitar, a 89-91 Charvel Predator. This guitar is the best guitar I've played and I have no plans on getting rid of it anytime soon. I also have a beat-up Ibanez 7-string (GX series I think) from the late 90s which I got cheap to record some songs for my friend's CD.
While we're talking gear, here's my amp experiences. I started out on a DOD G6 15W. After realizing that it sounded like a bee with digestive problems, I obtained a JCM900 50W dual-master head and a JCM800 1x12 cab with an after-market Vintage 30. I liked the sound but it didn't give me any options (only one channel), so I sold it and upgraded to the Mesa Road King. This was the amp to end all amps and I loved every minute I had with it. Unfortunately, money was running tight, and as I wasn't gigging or anything, I took the $2100 resale value. I downgraded to a Vox AD50VT which I've been playing since, and took a trip to Scotland for a week. I recently tried out a Line6 Vetta II, didn't like it, and got a Line6 POD 2.0 instead (which, I might add, sounds fantastic through computer speakers and is great for recording).
So, that's me. I'll try to remember to charge my camera and take some pictures of my gear to post up here. Don't worry, I'll keep my shirt on
